Location: London/ Hybrid

Salary: £60,000 – £70,000

About the Company

Herd Digital is working with an award-winning, independent digital agency who, due to their continued success and growth, are looking for their newest SEO Director to lead their SEO team. The business has over 20 years of experience in delivering high-end digital marketing campaigns and strategies to their clients and have stayed at the forefront of innovations by continually investing in their SEO teams.

SEO Director Role & Responsibilities

As SEO Director, your responsibilities will include being the escalation point for key client accounts, securing new client opportunities to continue the success of the business, and continue the growth and development of their team. Additionally, you will:

  • Work alongside the Head of SEO to formulate and execute results driven SEO strategies.
  • Take responsibility for the professional development of your team, using your experience and knowledge to turn SEO Executives and SEO Account Managers into SEO Account Managers and SEO Account Directors.
  • Be a key aspect of securing new and potential clients on behalf of the business, being confident in preparing and delivering pitches.
  • Be an expert in SEO and content strategies, keeping up to date with industry developments and utilise these to stay ahead of the market and competition.


Skills and Experience

The company is committed to the personal development of its team by supporting them through individually tailored, internal and external training to maintain their status as an industry leader; but does ask that you have:

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in SEO*.
  • Experience managing SEO teams and bringing out the best in your team.
  • Experience in leading client communications, whether that’s pitching new business or dealing with senior level escalations.
  • Confidence in building and developing relationships with clients and understanding best how to meet their SEO needs.
  • Well-rounded SEO skills, technical SEO, on-page, content creation and link building.
  • Experienced with Excel, SEO, and Analytics tools.


*Experience in SEO management in a previous role may have been as an Account Director, SEO Account Director, Senior SEO Manager, SEO Team Lead, or something similar.
