Head of SEO

Location: Germany – Remote or Hybrid. Business is based in Berlin.

Salary: €90,000 – €110,000

Languages: Native level German.

The Company

A leading ecommerce and fashion company based in Berlin is looking for a Head of SEO to take control of their SEO efforts as they look to expand the business’s SEO offerings. You will be given the autonomy to develop SEO efforts as you see fit, while working closely with and being supported by the senior members of the business.

The business is passionate about offering development and progression opportunities that will help you to succeed in your career and ensure you’re happy in your role. You will have your own personal training and development budget, be able to attend industry events, and as you grow the business’s SEO efforts, you will have the opportunity grow and develop the SEO team beneath you as you see fit.

This role is completely remote working in Germany. There is the opportunity for hybrid work should you prefer to work out of the businesses Berlin offices.

Head of SEO Role & Responsibilities

As Head of SEO, you will lead the development and optimisation of SEO for the business, as you work closely with the senior members of the business to establish and lead the SEO team. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Leading on creation and development of SEO strategy for the business.
• Developing and executing SEO for the business.
• Manage SEO roadmap for the business, including on-site and off-site SEO.
• Coordinate the expansion of SEO projects into new markets for the business.
• Oversee content creation to ensure quality (although this role itself, is not focused on creating content).
• Act as leadership within the business on an SEO perspective, as you work closely with the CEO and management team.

Your Experience & Skills

As the business is looking to grow and expand their SEO efforts, there is the opportunity for you to grow and develop the team beneath you. The company does, however, ask that you have:

• Extensive, senior level SEO experience is necessary for this position.
• Strong experience in Technical SEO and Off-Page SEO is essential. Content SEO experience in nice-to-have, but not essential.
• Strong experience in backlink strategies and acquisition.
• Previous SEO management experience, ideally in an ecommerce or fashion background.
• Experience in product roadmap development and collaborating with senior stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and organisational skills are imperative for this role.
• Strong communication skills, as you work closely with senior stakeholders within the business.
